Owen Hargreaves Urges Arsenal to Strengthen Attack and Defense

Owen Hargreaves, the former midfielder of Manchester United, has called on Arsenal to make strategic signings in the form of a new striker and a left-back, following their recent 2-0 defeat to West Ham in the Premier League.

The defeat, which occurred at the Emirates Stadium, dealt a significant blow to Arsenal’s aspirations in the Premier League title race, with goals from Tomas Soucek and Konstantinos Mavropanos securing the win for West Ham.

In an interview with Premier League Productions, Hargreaves emphasized Arsenal’s need for a player who can consistently find the back of the net, stating, “All they need is somebody to put the ball in the back of the net.” He further analyzed the game, highlighting Arsenal’s dominant 74% possession and 30 shots, indicating that they deserved more from the match.

Expressing his perspective on the team’s requirements, Hargreaves remarked, “They probably just need another one or two, a centre-forward and a left-back; they could do with a couple in that Declan [Rice] mould.” This recommendation reflects the necessity to bolster the team’s attacking prowess and defensive stability.

Arsenal’s setback against West Ham has left them in the second position, trailing behind league leaders Liverpool by two points.

The advice from Hargreaves underscores the critical evaluation of Arsenal’s squad dynamics in their pursuit of success in the Premier League. As the team assesses their options, the impact of potential signings in aligning with their strategic objectives becomes increasingly paramount.
