In a recent matchup against Gombe United, Abia Warriors secured a 3-1 victory at the Umuahia Township Stadium. However, Erasmus Onuh, the Technical Adviser of Abia Warriors, expressed his deep concern about the team’s persistent misfortune with injuries throughout the season.

During the game, Samson Obi impressively scored a brace, with Paschal Nwabueze contributing the third goal late in the match. Despite Gombe United’s effort, David Nnaji’s lone goal couldn’t turn the tide in their favor.

Coach Onuh voiced his frustration over the team’s inability to hit their peak performance levels, attributing it to the ongoing injury crisis. He candidly shared, “The team is firing on half cylinder because most of the players are injured. The team is depleted because of injuries, and the players on the ground are playing in different positions just to make up for the injured ones.”

As a result of this hard-fought victory, Abia Warriors ascended to the eighth position in the league standings. Nevertheless, the shadow of the injury plague looms large over the team’s prospects for the remainder of the season.
