COAS Urges Newly Promoted Officers to Prepare for Greater Responsibilities

The Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen. Taoreed Lagbaja, delivered a powerful message to the newly promoted Brigadier Generals, urging them to be prepared for higher responsibilities. The investiture of newly promoted Colonels to the rank of Brigadier Generals at the Army Headquarters Abuja set the stage for this impactful charge.

During the investiture ceremony, the Director of Army Public Relations, Maj.-Gen. Onyema Nwachukwu, shared Lt.-Gen. Lagbaja’s words, emphasizing the reward for hard work and diligence that the elevation signifies. The COAS highlighted the diligent efforts put forth by the newly promoted officers, justifying their elevation and suitability for their new rank.

In his address, Lt.-Gen. Lagbaja advised the senior officers to maintain the highest standards of conduct, remaining loyal to the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, the President, and the Nigerian Army. He also directed them to operate within the confines of the law, ensuring the realization of his command’s philosophy: “transforming the Army into a well-trained, equipped, and highly motivated force, towards achieving our constitutional responsibilities within a joint environment.”

Lt.-Gen. Lagbaja’s guidance sets the tone for the future of these newly promoted officers, as they are called to embrace and prepare for the higher tasks and responsibilities that await them.
