IPAC Calls on Elected Officials to Prioritize Problem-Solving for the People

The Inter Party Advisory Council (IPAC) has issued a resounding call to the politicians in the current administration, emphasizing that they were elected to address pressing issues and not to offer excuses about the challenges inherited from previous leaders. The Council underscored the need for exceptional patriotism, political acumen, and steadfast determination to tackle the monumental tasks that lie ahead.

In a New Year message to Nigerians signed by Yusuf Mamman Dantalle, its National Chairman-elect, IPAC stressed that combating insecurity, revitalizing the economy, enhancing infrastructure, generating employment opportunities, fostering social harmony, elevating living standards, and propelling the nation forward demand unwavering focus from elected leaders.

The message further highlighted the weighty responsibility of leadership, emphasizing that all elected public officers are duty-bound to fulfill their constitutional obligations and deliver on their campaign pledges without making excuses.

Additionally, IPAC reflected on the challenges faced by the people of Nigeria in the previous year, including political tensions, economic recession, fuel subsidy removal, currency devaluation, and widespread insecurity. Despite these adversities, IPAC acknowledged the resilience of Nigerians and their unwavering faith in the country.

To ensure accountability and progress, IPAC announced the establishment of a Peer Review Mechanism designed to monitor the performance of elected public officials in delivering the dividends of democracy to people nationwide.
