2024 budget: Tinubu gives marching order to MDAs on performance report

Tinubu Urges Government Agencies to Provide Monthly Budget Performance Reports

Nigeria’s President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has issued a directive to all ministries, departments, and agencies (MDAs) to submit monthly budget performance reports following the signing of the 2024 budget amounting to N28.7 trillion.

The call to action, as communicated by Tinubu’s spokesperson Aguri Ngelale, mandates the MDAs to channel their performance reports to the Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning. Moreover, Tinubu emphasized the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy’s responsibility to conduct regular reviews with the Economic Management Team. He also pledged to preside over periodic Economic Coordination Council meetings.

This directive underscores a concerted effort by the Nigerian government to ensure transparency, accountability, and effective financial management in the execution of the 2024 budget.
