Arsenal Urged to Recall Kieran Tierney from Loan After EPL Defeat

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is facing mounting pressure following a 2-1 defeat to Fulham, with calls from former Chelsea star Chris Sutton to recall defender Kieran Tierney from his loan spell at Real Sociedad amid the Gunners’ left-back concerns.

The Gunners are grappling with a lack of consistent goal-scoring this season, coupled with a left-back dilemma. The recent match against Fulham saw Arteta deploy Jakub Kiwior in the position due to injuries sidelining regular options.

Sutton has vocalized the need for Arteta to reconsider Tierney’s status at Real Sociedad, questioning the decision to let him go in the first place. “Kiwior at left-back, he is not a full-back, he is a centre-back. Why not recall Kieran Tierney? Good shout, does he have a recall? Does he have a recall after six months? Why did you let Tierney go in the first place? Maybe he wanted to play football, but it is a good point,” Sutton expressed.

Tierney had joined Real Sociedad on a season-long loan last summer after losing his spot in Arteta’s starting XI last season.
