Deadline for Hajj Registration Extended by NAHCON until January 31

The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has made a significant announcement, extending the deadline for Hajj registration to January 31, 2024. This decision, approved by the Federal Government, aims to provide more individuals with the opportunity to participate in this sacred pilgrimage.

According to Fatima Sanda Usara, NAHCON’s Assistant Director for Public Affairs, this extension period allows intending pilgrims to finalize their plans and preparations for the 2024 Hajj. NAHCON is urging stakeholders to take advantage of this additional time and complete the necessary registration processes.

The extension also aligns with the timeline set by the Saudi Arabian Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, which mandates the conclusion of all contracts and payments into IBAN accounts by February 25.

Malam Jalal Ahmad Arabi, the Chairman of NAHCON, has emphasized the commission’s dedication to addressing the concerns of stakeholders by granting this extension, despite the resulting adjustments to its preparatory timeline.

As the new deadline approaches, NAHCON is working diligently alongside its sister agencies to determine the total cost of the 2024 Hajj and finalize all necessary arrangements. This development underscores NAHCON’s commitment to facilitating a smooth and inclusive experience for all individuals involved in the Hajj pilgrimage.
