Arsenal Edging Closer to First January Transfer

Arsenal is on the cusp of finalizing their initial departure during the current January transfer window. The club is eager to generate funds to bolster their striker options under manager Mikel Arteta’s helm.

Reportedly, Arteta has set his sights on recruiting Brentford’s Ivan Toney as Arsenal’s top priority in the pursuit of maintaining competitiveness against fellow Premier League contenders, Liverpool and Manchester City, in the ongoing title race.

In addition to Toney, Arsenal is reportedly showing significant interest in securing the services of Real Sociedad’s Martin Zubimendi and Ajax’s Jorrel Hato.

The club faces financial constraints attributed to the profitability and sustainability rules (PSR), which may impede their activities in the January transfer window. Offloading players becomes crucial as a means to navigate these challenges.

Recent reports from the Daily Mail suggest that Arsenal is close to finalizing their first sale, with growing interest in midfielder Mohamed Elneny. Turkish clubs Trabzonspor and Besiktas have reportedly submitted offers for the Egyptian international, which are currently under consideration by the North London club.

Elneny has made a total of four appearances for Arsenal this season, indicating a diminished role within Arteta’s preferred midfield options at the Emirates.
