In a significant political move, Senator Solomon Akku Ewuga, a prominent figure in Nasarawa State, has officially rejoined the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) after leaving the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
During a gathering with APC officials in his Alushi-Ginda Ward on January 3, 2024, Ewuga, who previously represented Nasarawa North in the 7th Nigerian Senate, made the announcement.
The meeting, held in Nasarawa Eggon Local Government Area, drew the presence of key APC officials from Ewuga’s locality, signifying the importance of his return to the party.
With a diverse political background that includes serving as the state’s Deputy Governor and Minister of State for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Ewuga carries substantial influence in the region.
Notably, Ewuga was instrumental as one of the founding fathers of the now-defunct Congress for Progressive Change (CPC), a party that later amalgamated with others to establish the APC in 2013. His reintroduction to the APC could potentially have far-reaching implications for the political landscape in Nasarawa State.
