The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Katsina State recently held a significant election to fill several vacant positions in its executive council and central working committee. This decision comes as a response to the appointment of some members to political offices and the departure of others from the party.
The election took place during a joint meeting of stakeholders and the party’s executive committee at the Presidential Banquet Hall of the Katsina State Government House. It was a meticulously monitored process, supervised by an official from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Governor Mallam Dikko Umar Radda, along with his deputy, Faruq Lawal Jobe, and the Chief of Staff of the Government House, took the lead in overseeing the election. The state chairman of the APC, Sani Aliyu Daura, expressed gratitude towards the governor for actively involving all party officials in the governance agenda and commended the governor’s unwavering support to the party.
During the proceedings, Suleiman Namadi from Dutsinma emerged as the new State Auditor, with the support of the state vice chairman for the Funtua zone, Ibrahim Danjuma, and Daura local government chairman, Mamman S. Bariki. The election also filled other crucial positions within the State Financial Secretary and various members of the party’s central working committee.
The state’s deputy chairman of the APC, Alhaji Bala Abu Musawa, pledged to showcase the achievements of the Radda-led administration over the last seven months through electronic and social media. He also expressed gratitude to the governor for providing brand new cars to the party’s vice chairmen from the three senatorial zones.
The successful conduct of the election not only demonstrates the commitment to the democratic process but also the party’s willingness to ensure a robust and inclusive leadership structure for its future endeavors. This move sets the tone for a cohesive and dynamic APC in Katsina, Nigeria, and exemplifies the significance of active stakeholder involvement in the political landscape.
