Rivers APC Chair Calls on Elite to Aid Underprivileged Citizens

The All Progressives Congress in Rivers State is urging the affluent members of society to assist the underprivileged. Chief Tony Okocha, the chairman of Rivers APC Caretaker Committee, led the committee in donating gifts and cash to the ‘Home for the Elderly’ and the ‘New Generation Vision Orphanage’ in Port Harcourt and Elelenwo, respectively.

Okocha emphasized that their actions align with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, reflecting Tinubu’s compassionate leadership. He expressed the party’s commitment to demonstrating care for the less fortunate and highlighted the need for a government that prioritizes the well-being of all citizens, especially the vulnerable.

As a representative on the management board of the Niger Delta Development Commission, Okocha called on individuals and corporate organizations to consistently support those in need. He underscored the importance of the community’s collective goodwill and the responsibility of the privileged to extend their assistance to the less fortunate, stressing that it’s an essential aspect of human existence.

The donations to the two centers comprised bags of rice, cartons of noodles, toiletries, and an unspecified amount of cash, aimed at providing immediate relief to the beneficiaries.
