Kaduna Area Command Boasts Record-Breaking Revenue Generation in 2023

The Nigeria Customs Service, specifically the Kaduna Area Command, has made a significant financial stride by amassing a whopping N16.3 billion in revenue in 2023. Tijjani Abe, the area command controller, proudly announced this feat during a press conference alongside the command’s spokesman, Muhammad Aminu.

The breakdown of the revenue collection for the year reveals that N8.3 billion was derived from import duty, N5.7 billion from excise duty, and N43.4 million from fees. This marks a substantial increase from the N13.4 billion generated in 2022, reflecting a remarkable 21.93% surge in revenue.

In a historic first, the Kaduna Area Command achieved a milestone by collecting over N2 billion in just the months of November and December 2023, a feat unprecedented in the command’s history. Tijjani Abe also took the opportunity to extend gratitude to sister security agencies such as the military, police, SSS, and other paramilitary bodies for their exceptional collaboration. Additionally, he commended the leadership of the comptroller general of Customs, Bashir Adewale, and his management team for unwavering support in enabling the command to fulfill its statutory duties to the fullest.
