Former Kaduna Central Senator, Shehu Sani, highlighted the indiscriminate nature of terrorist attacks in Nigeria, stating that the same group targeting Muslims in various northern states are also responsible for the killings of Christians in the middle belt. The ex-lawmaker emphasized that terrorism should not be categorized by religious divides, as these extremists are driven solely by their targets.
In a social media post, Sani asserted, “The terrorists killing Muslims in Katsina, Zamfara, Borno, Yobe and Niger are the same terrorists killing Christians in Southern Kaduna, Benue and Plateau States; terrorism has no religious preferences. They don’t even spare their members who ‘derail.’ It’s either you are with them or you are a target.”
This revelation follows the tragic events of the Christmas eve, whereby terrorists mercilessly murdered residents in communities across three Local Government Areas in Plateau State. The distressing incidents further underscore the relentless and non-discriminatory nature of these violent attacks, leaving communities across religious and regional lines in a state of perpetual anguish and insecurity.
