Tragedy Strikes Southern Kaduna: Bandit Attack Reveals Horrific Losses

The Governor of Kaduna State, Senator Uba Sani, voiced his distress over the recent bandit attack on communities in Southern Kaduna. The attack, as reported by Media Talk Africa, resulted in numerous casualties and the abduction of many residents. A former councilor, Aminu Khalid, disclosed to journalists that 17 people were killed and 58 others were feared kidnapped during the invasion of three communities in Dawaki Ward, Kauru Local Government Area of Kaduna State. The affected villages were Ungwan Sako, Kunkurai, and Dokan Kaji. A confrontation ensued between the attackers and the villagers, leading to the rescue of 20 individuals. Tragically, nine villagers lost their lives in the process.

Governor Sani, condemning the brutality, denounced the attackers as “beasts in human skin,” emphasizing their incompatibility with a civilized society. He pledged his government’s unwavering commitment to pursuing the perpetrators and bringing them to justice, asserting that the assailants’ sole objective is to undermine the progress achieved in fostering trust within Kaduna State.

The appalling incident sheds light on the prevalent security challenges faced by communities in Southern Kaduna. It serves as a stark reminder of the urgent need for concerted efforts to safeguard the lives and property of the region’s inhabitants. The atrocity further underscores the imperative of effective measures to combat banditry and ensure the safety and well-being of all residents.
