Timo Werner Set to Join Premier League Rivals Amid Transfer Shock

RB Leipzig’s Timo Werner is on the verge of making a surprising return to English football.
Reports from Sky Germany suggest that the 27-year-old, who previously played for Chelsea, is poised to move to Tottenham Hotspur.
It’s understood that Spurs are looking to secure Werner on a loan deal until the end of the season.
Although there were previous talks of Werner potentially joining Manchester United during the January transfer window, it now appears that he is on the cusp of a return to London this month.
Tottenham is expected to cover the player’s entire salary until the conclusion of the current campaign.
As Ange Postecoglou’s side prepares for upcoming fixtures, they face the absence of club captain Heung-Min Son, who is set to miss at least a month due to his involvement in the Asia Cup. There are also concerns over a potential long-term knee injury for Alejo Veliz.
Werner’s appearances for Leipzig in the Bundesliga this season have been limited, with the striker featuring in just eight matches and scoring two goals. His existing contract extends until the summer of 2026.
