Buhari Administration: Not a Failure, Insists Former Minister Ngige

Former Minister of Labour and Employment, Senator Chris Ngige, defended the performance of the All Progressives Congress (APC) government under former President Muhammadu Buhari, asserting that it was not a failure. Ngige, who was a member of the government, highlighted various projects to support his claim.

Speaking to journalists in Alor, Idemili South Local Government Area of Anambra State, while distributing palliatives, Ngige emphasized the completion of significant projects such as the Second Niger Bridge, school feeding programs, and the Enugu Airport during the administration.

Addressing the internal dynamics of the APC in Anambra State, Ngige affirmed the absence of crisis within the party and reiterated the existence of two factions, with him leading the authentic faction. He emphasized his pivotal role and experience within the party, recognizing the influx of new members while advocating for unity among old and new members.

Looking ahead to the 2025 governorship race in Anambra, Ngige expressed confidence in the APC’s prospects, despite acknowledging the party’s shortcomings in the 2021 election. He projected optimism and determination, emphasizing the party’s readiness to challenge the ruling All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA).

Addressing the immediate humanitarian needs of citizens, Ngige committed to continuing food distribution, acknowledging the prevalence of hunger exacerbated by challenges such as banditry and flooding. He emphasized the party’s commitment to supporting APC members, people with disabilities, and the elderly across all 21 local government areas of Anambra State.

As he looks ahead, Ngige hinted at his forthcoming decision on future endeavors, indicating a potential return to public life following a period of sabbatical leave. His dedication to serving the community and his political ambitions remains unwavering.

While planning for the future, Ngige has firmly positioned himself as a staunch advocate for the Buhari administration, a unifying force within the APC, and a compassionate leader addressing the immediate needs of the people.
