Nigerian-born striker Dapo Mebude is currently receiving medical attention in a northwestern Belgium hospital following a car crash that occurred over the weekend. The news of the accident was confirmed by his club, KV Oostende, through its official X account.

The incident led to the cancellation of the practice match between Knokke and KVO. According to reports, Mebude’s car collided with a tree, resulting in emergency services having to extricate him from the wreckage. Although there has been no official update on his condition, KV Oostende expressed solidarity with the player and his family in a tweet, stating, “Our thoughts are with Dapo and his family.”

Mebude, who is 22 years old, boasts 28 caps for Scotland at the youth level and joined KV Oostende in September 2022.
