Governor Dauda Lawal of Zamfara State has made a firm commitment to fully carry out the provisions outlined in the state’s 2024 budget. This pledge came to light during the state executive council meeting held in Gusau on Monday.

The governor’s spokesperson, Sulaiman Idris, revealed that various crucial matters were deliberated upon during the council meeting. Additionally, Governor Lawal expressed his gratitude for the collective contributions that have propelled the administration to achieve significant milestones, despite facing substantial economic and social obstacles.

Lawal highlighted the transformation in Zamfara State’s narrative, noting substantial progress across all facets of development during the seven months since assuming office in May 2023. He underscored the administration’s commitment to addressing prevalent issues affecting the socio-economic well-being of the populace. The governor stressed the importance of governance reform and policy initiatives aligned with the administration’s priorities.

Looking ahead, Lawal emphasized the need to not only maintain momentum but to intensify efforts towards realizing the targets set in the 2024 budget. The administration is particularly focused on bolstering security, education, healthcare, infrastructure, and economic growth while striving to bridge existing gaps.

As the implementation of the 2024 budget kicks off, the governor expects regular performance reports from Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs). Furthermore, a performance delivery unit will be established under the governor’s office to evaluate the performance of all appointees.

Governor Lawal reiterated the launch of various programs and policies outlined in the 2024 Rescue Budget while stressing the overarching goal of enhancing the quality of life for every resident of Zamfara State. He called for a collaborative and transparent approach, underscoring the pivotal role of every council member in this endeavor.
