The festive season in Khayelitsha’s TR section, Cape Town, was marred by a noxious stench emanating from the overflowing container toilets. Speaking anonymously, a resident lamented the unsanitary conditions, filled with flies and maggots, conveying the urgent need for intervention.

These perpetrators demanded an exorbitant monthly fee of R50,000, callously disregarding the welfare of the community.
