Aliko Dangote Regains Title as Africa’s Richest Person

Nigeria’s business mogul Aliko Dangote has once again secured his position as the wealthiest individual in Africa, reclaiming the top spot on Forbes Real-Time Billionaires list. This development comes after South African tycoon Johann Rupert briefly surpassed Dangote in wealth last week.

As of January 8, Dangote’s net worth rose by $10 million to an impressive $10.1 billion. In contrast, Rupert’s net worth decreased to $10 billion from $10.7 billion on January 30, 2023. This reversal propelled Dangote to the 191st rank on the global Forbes list, with Rupert closely following at 197th place.

It’s a testament to Dangote’s business acumen and the resilience of his conglomerate, Dangote Group, which spans across various sectors. This turn of events reinforces Dangote’s enduring influence in Africa’s economic landscape.
