Mahmoud Trezeguet, also known as Mahmoud Ahmed Ibrahim Hassan, expressed their unwavering determination upon the Pharaohs’ arrival in Cote d’Ivoire. The team is poised to base themselves in Abidjan, where they will compete in a challenging Group B alongside Ghana, Mozambique, and Cape Verde.

Trezeguet acknowledged the tough competition, emphasizing the strength of all African teams and their exceptional players. He highlighted the team’s mindset, stating that every match will be treated as a final in their pursuit of a new title. Egypt’s campaign kicks off with a matchup against Mozambique on January 14, followed by a showdown with Ghana four days later. Their final group fixture against Cape Verde awaits them on January 22, marking the crucial stages of their journey towards AFCON glory.
