The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State is extending an olive branch to opposition parties in the wake of the Supreme Court’s affirmation of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s election victory. In a statement on Friday, Lagos State APC Chairman Pastor Cornelius Ojelabi called for an end to partisan politics and urged the opposition to throw their weight behind Governor Sanwo-Olu.

Ojelabi emphasized the need for collective efforts in serving the people of Lagos, stating, “The era of partisan politics has ended, and all hands should be on deck now towards contributing our quotas aimed at making Lagos the Centre of Excellence through good, meaningful, and excellent programs for the people.”

Extending congratulations to the APC family and the people of Lagos, Ojelabi expressed that the victory at the Supreme Court was not only long-awaited but also well-deserved. He thanked the party members and loyalists for their unwavering support for both the APC and the Sanwo-Olu government.

The chairman further highlighted the significance of the Supreme Court’s affirmation, emphasizing that it reinforced the value of the electorate’s votes cast in favor of Sanwo-Olu and Hamzat during the March 18 elections. Ojelabi assured the residents of Lagos that the Sanwo-Olu-led administration would remain committed to delivering on its promises, thereby ushering in more dividends of democracy.

Describing the unanimous judgment by the Supreme Court justices as a testimony of the court’s commitment to credible judicial pronouncements and democracy strengthening, Ojelabi congratulated Governor Sanwo-Olu and Deputy Governor Obafemi Hamzat on their victory.

In conclusion, Ojelabi reiterated the APC’s acceptance of the final judgment, expressing appreciation for the due diligence and the adherence to the rule of law. He emphasized the celebration of Governor Sanwo-Olu’s victory as the democratically elected leader of Lagos State, expressing confidence in the administration’s ability to uphold the tenets of democracy and deliver progress and development to the state.
