Atiku Abubakar Vows to Lead Opposition Coalition Against APC in 2027

Former presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar has announced his readiness to spearhead a coalition of opposition parties to overthrow the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 elections. His declaration follows the Supreme Court’s validation of the elections of several Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governors.

In a statement from his Media Office in Abuja, Atiku congratulated the PDP governors of Bauchi, Plateau, Cross River, and Zamfara whose victories were upheld by the Supreme Court. He emphasized the importance of a united opposition in fortifying Nigeria’s democracy, asserting, “I am as prepared as ever, to lead the charge, alongside all our leaders and Governors, for the good of our country.”

Atiku expressed his belief in the pivotal role of justice in upholding democracy, stating, “Where Justice is seen to have been substantially rendered, we, as patriots and citizens, will always applaud.” He also commended the Supreme Court’s decision, highlighting the continuation of good governance standards under the PDP’s leadership in the respective states.

Furthermore, Atiku urged the victorious PDP governors to leverage their affirmed mandates in order to consolidate and extend the reach of the good governance they have instated. His stance signifies a proactive approach towards harnessing the momentum gained from the Supreme Court’s ruling, instilling the notion of sustained progress and responsibility amongst the PDP leadership.

This resolute declaration from Atiku Abubakar mirrors the intensifying political landscape in Nigeria, setting the stage for a fiercely contested 2027 electoral showdown and potentially reshaping the nation’s future. As the political dynamics continue to evolve, Atiku’s pledge solidifies his position as a formidable force in Nigerian politics, galvanizing a realm of anticipation and scrutiny on the path ahead.
