Plateau State: APC’s Yilwatda Gracefully Accepts Supreme Court Ruling

Dr. Nentawe Yilwatda, the 2023 governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Plateau State, has gracefully accepted the Supreme Court’s judgment that affirmed Governor Caleb Mutfwang’s election victory.

After contesting Mutfwang’s election and initially being declared the winner by the Appeal Court on November 19, 2023, the apex court overturned the ruling. In response, Yilwatda, in a statement released to the press in Jos on Saturday, congratulated Mutfwang on his victory. He expressed gratitude to their supporters for their unwavering belief and resilience.

Yilwatda acknowledged that they have now reached the culmination of the 2023 general elections process and humbly accepted the Supreme Court’s decision, urging the people of Plateau and their well-wishers to maintain peace in the state.

In his words, “Never before have I seen this bond of organic fraternity and personal sacrifices by supporters in a cause they believe in.”

The graceful acceptance of defeat by Yilwatda not only showcases his sportsmanship but also calls for unity and peace for the citizens of Plateau.
