AS Roma Terminates Contract with Jose Mourinho

AS Roma made the shocking decision to part ways with their renowned manager, Jose Mourinho, citing a series of disappointing performances this season as the reason behind the termination.
The announcement was made through a formal statement released by the club via their official X account on Tuesday. In the statement, Roma expressed gratitude for Mourinho’s contribution while emphasizing the necessity for an immediate change for the betterment of the club. They conveyed their best wishes to Mourinho and his coaching staff in their future endeavors.
The Italian football club’s decision comes on the heels of a lackluster performance, with Roma managing to secure only one victory in their last six Serie A matches. As a result, they currently find themselves positioned at a dismal ninth place in the league standings.
Mourinho, who took on the role of Roma’s manager in 2021, has seen his tenure abruptly cut short after a mere two-and-a-half years.
Despite the recent downturn, it is worth noting that the 60-year-old manager led the team to secure the Europa Conference League title in 2022.
