Osun Government Commits to Cover Medical Expenses for Accident Victims, Assures Care for Survivors

The Osun State Government has pledged to take full responsibility for the medical care of the survivors of a tragic road accident in Osogbo. The reassurance came from the Secretary to the State Government, Teslim Igbalaye, during a visit to the family of one of the victims.

In a statement by Kolapo Alimi, the Osun Commissioner for Information and Culture, it was revealed that the state government’s delegation also extended condolences to the family of the deceased father and his three children who lost their lives in the incident.

The accident, which occurred near the WOCDIF event center on Ring Road, Osogbo, on Tuesday morning, led to the fatalities and left several children injured.

“We are here on the instruction of Governor Adeleke, to console you on the unfortunate incident that happened yesterday. We pray that God almighty gives you the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss,” expressed Teslim Igbalaye.

The Secretary to the State Government further conveyed the government’s commitment to cover all medical expenses for the children currently receiving treatment at UNIOSUN Teaching Hospital (UTH) until they achieve full recovery.

During the visit to the hospital, Igbalaye urged the management to ensure the comprehensive and timely treatment of the children.

“The Governor has directed that the treatment cost of the children will be taken over by the state government; kindly ensure that all necessary steps and procedures are taken to ensure the speedy recovery of the ailing children,” he stated.
