An alleged fallout with his former manager, Nuno Espirito Santo, who was sacked in November, has added to the speculation. While there have been whispers about a possible return to the Bernabeu, it appears that Real Madrid is unlikely to re-sign a player who netted 354 goals during his tenure with the club.
