President Bola Tinubu has given the green light for Dr. Bayero Farah to continue serving as the Director-General/Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Institute of Transport Technology (NITT) in Zaria for another four years. This renewal, effective from January 13, marks Farah’s second term in this role.

In an official statement by the institute’s spokesperson, John Kolawale, released on Friday in Zaria, it was revealed that the reappointment letter was signed by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Sen. George Akume. This decision aligns with the Nigerian Institute of Transport Technology Act of 1986 under the Laws of the Federation of Nigeria.

Kolawale emphasized Farah’s exceptional track record, citing his instrumental role in the significant transformation of NITT since its establishment in 1986. Joining NITT in 1994 as a Senior Staff Development Officer, Farah’s journey to leadership involved prior experience as a classroom teacher and a National Population Census Cartographic Officer. His ascent through the ranks culminated in his appointment as the substantive DG/CEO on January 13, 2020.

Farah’s tenure has been marked by unparalleled achievements, positioning NITT at an unmatched status within the industry.

This reappointment underscores the continuity of Farah’s laudable leadership, affirming his commitment to further advancing the NITT’s objectives in the transport sector.
