In a heartening turn of events, the four remaining siblings of the late Nabeeha Al-Kadriyah have been liberated from their harrowing captivity.
The grievous ordeal began when the sisters, along with their father, were abducted in the Zuma 1 area of Bwari Area Council on January 2nd. Although their father was initially released to facilitate the collection of ransom, the family’s inability to meet the abductors’ demands within the stipulated time led to the tragic demise of Nabeeha.
Following Nabeeha’s senseless killing, the kidnappers callously escalated their ransom from N60 million to N100 million, menacingly threatening the lives of the remaining sisters. The appalling situation prompted an outpouring of compassion from concerned citizens, determined to ensure the safety of the surviving siblings.
Josephine Adeh, the Police Public Relations Officer for the Federal Capital Territory Police, confirmed the sisters’ release to Media Talk Africa on Sunday morning. Although reports suggest the ransom was paid before their liberation, Adeh emphasized that the successful rescue operation was executed by the FCT Anti-Kidnapping squad in collaboration with the Nigerian Army troops.
The triumphant rescue unfolded in the late hours of Saturday around the Kajuru forest in Kaduna State, as Adeh remarked, “The operatives successfully rescued the victims around Kajuru forest in Kaduna state at about 11:30 pm on Saturday.”
This remarkable turn of events not only underscores the tenacity of law enforcement efforts but also serves as a beacon of hope amidst an otherwise daunting ordeal. The sisters’ newfound freedom stands as a testament to the unwavering solidarity and resilience exhibited by those who rallied behind their cause.
