Tragedy Strikes as Explosion Claims Life of Pupil in Kaduna Village

An explosion in Kidandan village of Giwa Local Government Area of Kaduna State has shaken the community, resulting in the tragic loss of a pupil from an Islamiyya school and injuries to ten others. The incident has sparked an urgent investigation by security agencies, leaving the community reeling from the aftermath.

As the details of the incident unfold, the Overseeing Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan, released a statement in Kaduna, emphasizing the gravity of the situation. He revealed that the explosion occurred when one of the pupils, under the tutelage of a local cleric, retrieved an object from the bush, which subsequently detonated among the group of students.

The devastating impact of the explosion has led to the confirmed death of one pupil, Zaidu Usman, and the hospitalization of approximately 10 others receiving medical care at the Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital in Shika-Zaria. Governor Uba Sani expressed profound sorrow and extended heartfelt condolences to the victims and their families, while praying for the deceased and the swift recovery of the injured.

In response to the tragedy, the governor called for increased vigilance among parents and community leaders concerning the activities of their children and wards, recognizing their susceptibility to various dangers. Furthermore, he directed the relevant authorities to collaborate with security agencies for an immediate investigation to determine the cause of the explosion, with the primary focus on ensuring the safety of residents, providing emergency support, and delivering prompt medical attention to the victims.
