ICPC Chairman Vows Zero Tolerance for Corruption, Strengthens Ties with Civil Society

Dr. Musa Aliyu, the Chairman of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), has affirmed the commission’s unwavering commitment to combatting corruption in Nigeria. During a recent meeting with a delegation from the Civil Society Legislative Centre (CISLAC) in Abuja, Dr. Aliyu emphasized ICPC’s adherence to the rule of law and national best practices in its anti-corruption efforts.

The chairman staunchly declared, “We will not tolerate any corruption within the commission,” expressing his determination to uphold ethical standards, integrity, and efficiency in ICPC’s operations. He underscored the commission’s pledge to operate transparently and accountably while pursuing its mandate to tackle corruption in the country.

Furthermore, Dr. Aliyu acknowledged the crucial role of civil society organizations, such as CISLAC, in holding ICPC and other agencies accountable. He commended the continuous demands for transparency and accountability from these organizations, emphasizing ICPC’s commitment to sustaining collaborative initiatives with CSOs.

On the other hand, Auwal Rafsanjani, the Executive Director of CISLAC, reiterated the organization’s unwavering support for ICPC’s endeavors. He affirmed the intent to bolster the existing partnership and lauded ICPC’s efforts while pledging to minimize the impact of corruption in Nigeria.

The meeting between ICPC and CISLAC signifies a renewed commitment to fortify anti-corruption measures and foster synergistic collaborations in the ongoing fight against corruption.
