Former Ondo Senator Boluwaji Kunlere Departs from PDP

In a surprising turn of events, Senator Boluwaji Kunlere, the former representative of Ondo South Senatorial District from 2011 to 2015, has announced his departure from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the platform that propelled him to the National Assembly.

Kunlere conveyed his decision in a letter addressed to the party chairman in Igbotako Ward 2, Igbotako, Okitipupa Local Government Area. The resignation letter, dated Jan. 24, was made public in Okitipupa, significantly impacting the local political landscape.

“I, hereby tender my letter of resignation from the PDP, with effect from Jan. 24. I sincerely express my appreciation to you and other members of the party for your cooperation and support throughout the period of my membership of the party. Thank you and God bless. I will decide who to vote for, after the primaries, by God’s grace. For now, I have not initiated any discussion with any political party,” the letter read.

This decision has sparked speculation about Kunlere’s future political alliances and how it will influence the upcoming political landscape in Ondo and possibly beyond. As the political climate continues to evolve, Kunlere’s choice of a new political path remains uncertain, leaving room for intrigue and anticipation among his supporters and political observers.
