NAHCO, the Nigerian Aviation Handling Company PLC, unveiled its new Export Packaging and Processing Centre in Lagos, marking a significant milestone for the company and Nigeria’s export industry. The launch, attended by key stakeholders, including government officials and industry players, served as a platform for NAHCO to emphasize the need for support in driving the country’s aviation and export sectors forward.

Dr. Seinde Fadeni, the Chairman of NAHCO’s Board of Directors, highlighted the pivotal role of the Federal Government’s support in achieving the company’s objectives. Emphasizing the importance of collaboration, Fadeni expressed gratitude to the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, acknowledging the government’s role in creating a conducive business environment.

While underscoring the challenges faced by operators at the airport, Fadeni refrained from dwelling on them, choosing instead to focus on the significance of the moment and the support that made the new center a reality. He appealed to the government for continuous support, emphasizing the potential for Nigeria to earn significant foreign exchange through food exports and NAHCO’s commitment to leading this initiative.

Recognizing the vital role of perishable exports in the livelihoods of many Nigerians, Fadeni called for a strategic meeting of stakeholders to propel the segment forward. Addressing stakeholders directly, he assured them of NAHCO’s preparedness for the export business, emphasizing the unique benefits offered by the newly launched facility.

NAHCO, a prominent ground handling service provider, operates across various sectors, including aviation, energy, logistics, and food and beverages. Indranil Gupta, the Group Managing Director of NAHCO, stressed the importance of non-oil exports in bolstering Nigeria’s economic strength. He highlighted the potential of exports to drive economic development, generate employment opportunities, and contribute to the overall prosperity of the nation.

The launch of the Export Packaging and Processing Centre signifies NAHCO’s proactive stance in contributing to Nigeria’s economic growth, particularly through non-oil exports. With an eye on strengthening the country’s position in the global market, NAHCO’s strategic move aligns with the broader ambitions of positioning Nigeria as a leading player in the export arena.

As NAHCO takes bold steps to chart new territories in export handling, the company’s vision for sustainable growth and economic empowerment sets a promising trajectory for Nigeria’s export industry.
