The National Professional Football League (NPFL) has announced a significant change in the upcoming youth league qualifiers. The South-South qualifiers, initially slated for Asaba, will now take place in Port Harcourt. This decision was confirmed by Pastor Emeka Inyama, the chairman of the organizing committee, in Abuja.

The reason for relocating the venue has not been disclosed, leaving room for speculation and anticipation among football enthusiasts. The shift is poised to impact the dynamics of the qualifiers and inject a new level of excitement into the tournament.

The participating teams from the South-South region include Akwa United, Bayelsa United, Bendel Insurance, and Rivers United. With the change in venue, these teams will need to adapt swiftly to the new environment, adding an element of unpredictability to the competition.

Preparations for the qualifiers are already underway, with teams expected to arrive at their designated zonal grounds on January 30. Subsequently, screening and documentation procedures will take place on January 31, setting the stage for intense showdowns on the field.
