In a bold and unequivocal message, Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), has issued a stern warning to kidnappers and their informants, threatening lethal action by security forces if they fail to repent.
Speaking at a town hall meeting in Kuje, Wike declared, “We are going to tackle insecurity head-on. These bandits and criminals, their time is up.” His uncompromising stance sent a clear message to perpetrators and collaborators alike.
Addressing potential informants directly, Wike cautioned, “If you are an informant, you will die the same way those people you are informing will die. You have the opportunity of repenting today or else you are gone. Nobody will pity you.”
The minister’s resolute tone left no room for negotiation, as he emphasized the readiness of security agencies to confront the ongoing security challenges. Wike urged residents to actively support law enforcement efforts by providing vital information and assured them that no amount of intimidation would deter the government from fulfilling its obligations.
Turning his attention to the infrastructural deficiencies in Kuje Area Council, Wike expressed disbelief at the unconstructed major roads and promised to rectify the situation. He vowed to prioritize the completion of overdue projects, affirming, “Be assured that you will see changes in this area council. It is not that we are doing you any good, you are entitled to it.”
With a firm commitment to restoring peace and addressing community needs, Wike’s unwavering stance and pledge for action resonate as a call to both uphold security and deliver on vital public infrastructure.
