The Zone 2 Police Command, Onikan, Lagos State, has initiated trial proceedings against three police officers who were involved in demanding a tinted glass permit from motorists. The Zonal Public Relations Officer, SP. Tunni Ayuba, confirmed that the officers – ASP Kenedy Ereoah, Insp. Ademiluyi Adekunle, and Insp. Ayo Gbenga – are facing trial for professional misconduct.

The officers, who are attached to the Zone 2 Command, were captured in a viral video where they demanded a tinted glass permit from a motorist. Despite claims of them being kidnappers, it was clarified that they were on official duty but acted unprofessionally, thereby flouting the Inspector-General of Police’s directive on tinted glass permits.

SP. Tunni Ayuba urged the affected motorist to contact her for further action and emphasized the need for transparency by requesting the concerned member of the public to reach out for additional measures. Additionally, the Assistant Inspector General of Police has reassured the residents of Lagos State and Ogun of their safety and security, while urging calm as they carry out their lawful activities.

The Zone 2 Police Command’s prompt response and commitment to addressing misconduct within its ranks demonstrate its dedication to upholding professional standards and ensuring the safety and security of the public.
