Chief Eze Chukwuemeka Eze Criticizes Tony Okocha’s Claim of Rivers APC Leadership

Chief Eze Chukwuemeka Eze, a prominent member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has strongly criticized Tony Okocha for asserting himself as the leader of the party in Rivers State. In a recent statement, Okocha discredited former governor Chibuike Amaechi’s leadership within the APC in the state and boasted about his efforts in supporting the party’s presidential candidate, Senator Ahmed Bola Tinubu.

Eze vehemently rebuked Okocha’s remarks, expressing disappointment in his actions. He highlighted Okocha’s previous appointment as Chief of Staff by Amaechi, emphasizing that Okocha’s current behavior reflects poorly on his gratitude towards his former boss. Eze also challenged Okocha to provide evidence of his APC membership during the 2023 general elections, as he raised doubts about Okocha’s allegiance to the party.

Additionally, Eze emphasized that he had previously advised Okocha to refrain from engaging in divisive politics and cautioned that Amaechi would not descend to Okocha’s level to engage in a war of words.

The escalating tension within the Rivers APC, as portrayed in Eze’s response, underscores the internal power struggle and highlights the challenges facing the party in the region.
