Heartland FC Chooses Awka City Stadium as New Home Ground

Heartland FC has made the decision to relocate their home games from the Enyimba International Stadium to the Awka City Stadium for the remainder of the 2023-24 NPFL season. Solomon Onu, the club’s media officer, confirmed this development in a conversation with Media Talk Africa.

The move comes as a result of the ongoing efforts to renovate the Dan Anyiam Stadium in Owerri, which has been suspended from hosting league matches due to the poor state of the playing pitch. Onu expressed the club’s determination to work towards returning to their original home ground.

“We will be using the Awka City Stadium as our home ground for the second stanza of the season,” Onu told Media Talk Africa. “We have started work on the Dan Anyiam Stadium in order to facilitate our return home.”

The second half of the NPFL season is set to resume on February 14, and preparations are underway to ensure a smooth transition to the new venue.
