The Rivers State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has accused Governor Sim Fubara of disrespecting President Bola Tinubu amid his rift with the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike. The APC Caretaker committee Chairman in the state, Tony Okocha, made the accusation at the party’s secretariat in Port Harcourt while addressing defectors joining the party.

Okocha expressed concern that Fubara has allegedly not fulfilled all the proclamations made by Tinubu at the peace deal with Wike. He stated, “It will amount to barefaced disobedience for Gov Siminalayi not to follow to the letter, all the 8 indices in the proclamation made by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in response to the Rivers State political crisis.”

He specifically pointed out Fubara’s alleged refusal to present the Rivers State 2024 budget to a properly constituted Rivers State House of Assembly and the delayed conduct of Local Government Elections as indications of disrespect for the presidency.

The APC Rivers chapter vehemently condemned what they described as an act of disobedience by Governor Fubara and warned against the potential consequences.
