The Nigerian Presidency has extended its congratulations to the Super Eagles for securing a spot in the semi-finals of the 2023 All African Cup of Nations (AFCON). President Bola Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, expressed the presidential commendation for the team.

Highlighting Ademola Lookman’s crucial goal and Victor Osimhen’s persistent threat to Angola’s defense, Onanuga conveyed the President’s accolades. He underscored Nigeria’s achievement of equaling Egypt’s record for the most semi-final appearances, marking the 16th qualification for the prestigious stage.

Moses Simon, credited for assisting Lookman’s goal, was also lauded and honored as the Man of the Match. Additionally, Victor Osimhen received recognition for his continuous impactful performance, with assurance that goals would soon follow.

The resounding success of the Super Eagles in reaching the AFCON 2023 semi-finals has undoubtedly solidified their reputation as a formidable force in African football.
