Kcee Unveils His Role as a Music Industry Mentor: Bringing Iyanya to Lagos and Nurturing Skibii

In a recent revelation, Nigerian singer, Kingsley Okonkwo, popularly known as Kcee, shared the significant role he played in nurturing talents in the music industry. Kcee disclosed that he brought his colleague, Iyanya, to Lagos and provided accommodation for him for six years. Additionally, he highlighted his contribution to nurturing Skibii’s talent and guiding him to stardom.

During a candid discussion on the Afrobeats Podcast, Kcee humbly expressed his pivotal role in shaping the careers of budding artists. He recounted, “I brought Iyanya to Lagos, I bought his first flight ticket. He stayed with me for six years in Lagos. I don’t talk about it.” Furthermore, he emphasized his instrumental support for Skibii, saying, “I also brought Skibii to the music industry. Skibii is grateful to me for that till today.”

The celebrated artist, known for his modesty, reiterated his commitment to nurturing talent, stating, “I am that guy who knows how to identify talent. When I see it, I know. And I would support.”

In response to Kcee’s revelations, Iyanya acknowledged the singer’s pivotal role in his career, affirming, “Yes, he [Kcee] did [accommodate me] and I’m forever grateful.”
