In a collaborative effort with the Nigerian Army, Yobe State Police Command successfully intercepted an 18-seater bus carrying suspected political thugs in Gashu’a. The individuals, allegedly hired to disrupt the electoral process in Damaturu, were apprehended, averting potential chaos.

According to the command’s Public Relations Officer, a group of individuals, including Abu Bakar Garba Bololo, 25, Habu Mato, 35, Suleman Musa, 50, Yusuf Danjuma, 33, Abdullahi Haruna, 45, Zainab Mohd, 25, and Rachael Bitrus, 23, from Jakusko and Bade local government areas, were among those arrested.

The suspects claimed affiliation with an opposition party, sparking swift investigations into their alleged involvement in criminal activities.

The police command emphasized its unwavering commitment to safeguarding lives and property and urged the public to reject violence and thuggery, underscoring the imperative of maintaining peace during electoral processes.
