APC’s Prof. Anthony Ani Emerges Victorious in Ebonyi South Senatorial By-election

The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Prof. Anthony Ani, clinched victory in the Ebonyi South Senatorial by-election held on Saturday. Ani secured 46,270 votes, triumphing over his closest contender, Ifeanyi Eleje of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), who garnered 3,513 votes. Meanwhile, Silas Onu of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) obtained 2,783 votes, and Linus Okorie of the Labour Party (LP) scored 2,710 votes.

The Returning Officer for the Ebonyi South Senatorial election, Eze Uchechukwu, announced Ani’s win on Sunday in Afikpo Local Government Area. Eze confirmed that Prof. Ani, having fulfilled the legal requirements, is declared the victor and elected.

The returning officer also reported that the total number of votes cast was 56,363, with 695 votes being rejected.
