Nigerian troops, in collaboration with other security forces, conducted a successful operation in Yorro Local Government Area of Taraba, resulting in the destruction of multiple bandits’ hideouts and the rescue of four kidnap victims. Acting swiftly and decisively, the operation aimed to eliminate the menace posed by bandits and kidnappers in the region, commencing on Feb. 2.
During the operation, the troops engaged the bandits at Gampu hills and Ban Yorro area, employing superior firepower that forced the bandits to flee, abandoning their abducted victims. The ongoing efforts strive to locate and reunite other kidnapped victims who fled during the exchange of fire with their loved ones.
The rescued victims include Genesis Samuel, 24, from Ganku village; Benard Denis, 28, from Fulfualgon village; Esther Titus, 35, from Kosanai village; and Isma’il Umar, 25, the son of the Emir of Pupulle, who was abducted from his residence on Jan. 18.
The 6 Brigade Army Public Relations emphasized the Brigade’s commitment to ensuring citizens’ safety and dismantling criminal networks in the state. The public was urged to support the military by providing credible and timely information on suspicious activities to enhance overall security within the state.
