The NPFL youth league playoffs have seen five teams clinch their spots in the upcoming tournament. Rivers United, Plateau United, Remo Stars, Rangers, and Katsina United emerged as the top qualifiers from their respective groups after the conclusion of zonal playoffs held at five different centers.
Remo Stars dominated the Ekiti center, securing nine points in three games at the Oluyemi Kayode Stadium. Plateau United sealed their qualification with superior goal difference at the Lafia center, where they conceded three goals but managed to secure seven points. Meanwhile, Rangers secured a narrow victory against Heartland in the Oriental derby clash at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, Enugu, moving to the top of the table.
In the Kaduna center, Katsina United earned seven points, surpassing Doma United’s tally of six points. Rivers United also advanced from the group in Port Harcourt with seven points.
The draw for the tournament is set to take place on February 12, with the playoffs scheduled to be held from February 13th to 17th, 2024.
