Akwa United Narrow Down Choices for New Head Coach

The chairman of Akwa United, Paul Bassey, has disclosed that the club is considering three potential candidates for the vacant head coach position. Bassey emphasized the importance of maintaining high standards in the selection process.

He also praised the caretaker coach, Umar Abdullahi, for his role in transforming the fortunes of the club. This development comes after the former technical adviser, Fatai Osho, resigned due to the team’s underperformance.

Bassey elaborated on the challenges of finding a suitable replacement, stating, “It’s been difficult getting a coach, I must confess to you. The standards are very high. We have shortlisted three coaches and we are still looking at them. We have brought in four players to boost the team and help the team reach their season’s objectives.”

The promise keepers are keen on elevating their performance with the appointment of a new coach and the addition of new players to the squad.
