ADP and LP Secure Victories in Plateau Senate and House of Representatives Rerun Elections

The Labour Party’s Daniel Asama emerged victorious in the House of Representatives rerun election for Jos North/Bassa Federal Constituency. Asama secured 66,422 votes, defeating Mohammed Gwani of the Peoples Redemption Party, who garnered 61,670 votes, according to the Returning Officer, Prof. James Garba.

In a parallel contest, the Action Democratic Party’s Prince Pam Mwadkon Dachungyang claimed victory in the Plateau North senatorial rerun election. The Returning Officer, Prof. Nestor Chagok, announced that Dachungyang received 122,442 votes, surpassing his closest rival, Yakub Muhammad Safiu of the New Nigeria Peoples Party, who obtained 53,980 votes.

The All Progressives Congress’ candidate, Christopher Musa Giwa, secured 39,132 votes, while Barr. Gyang Zi of the LP received 33,243 votes. These outcomes follow the Court of Appeal in Abuja annulling the election of PDP’s Musa Agah and Sen. Simon Mwadkon, mandating a rerun election within 90 days. Notably, the PDP was excluded from the ballot paper by INEC in compliance with the aforementioned ruling.
