Daniel Asama Emerges Victorious in Jos North/Bassa Federal Constituency Rerun Election

Daniel Asama, representing the Labour Party (LP), has clinched victory in the rerun election for the Jos North/Bassa Federal Constituency. The Independent National Electoral Commission’s Returning Officer, Prof. James Damen, announced the outcome in the early hours of Monday.

Asama garnered 66,422 votes, triumphing over his closest competitor, Adam Alkali of the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP), who secured 61,670 votes. Ibrahim Hassan of the All Progressives Congress (APC) trailed behind with 10,063 votes.

“Having obtained the highest valid votes and meeting all legal requirements, Mr. Daniel Asama is hereby declared the winner of the Jos North/Bassa Federal Constituency rerun election and duly elected,” declared Damen.

The official results revealed Asama’s victory in Bassa Local Government Area, while Alkali emerged victorious in Jos North LGA.
