The Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) has extended its congratulations to Rivers United for securing a spot in the 2024 NPFL U-17 Championship Playoffs. Dr. Sunday Johnson Obaseki, the secretary of the Youth League committee, conveyed the league’s felicitations to the club.
In an official communication, Dr. Obaseki lauded the players, technical staff, and management of Rivers United FC of Port Harcourt for their achievement. The playoffs are slated to take place from 18th to 24th February 2024 in Benin City, Edo State.
Rivers United’s U-17 team clinched their playoff berth after emerging triumphant in the South-South Zone. The Pride of Rivers’ young squad amassed seven points from three matches during the zonal qualifications held in Port Harcourt.
Looking ahead, Rivers United is poised to face formidable opponents – Katsina United, Remo Stars, Rangers, and Plateau United – in the upcoming championship playoffs later this month.
