In a shocking incident at Kabeama coastal settlement in Sagbama Local Government Area of Bayelsa, a man identified as Tony has allegedly beheaded his girlfriend, Ebibraaladei Maxwell. The couple, who were unmarried, lived together and had a child.
According to neighbors, the gruesome act took place in the early hours of Saturday around 3 am, and the victim’s severed head was discovered at dawn. Tony was apprehended by residents as he tried to flee the scene and was subsequently handed over to the police.
The state police command’s public relations officer, ASP Musa Mohammed, confirmed the incident, stating that the suspect is in custody and undergoing interrogation. Additionally, police from Sagbama Division removed the victim’s remains, depositing them at the morgue of the Federal Medical Centre in Yenagoa.
This tragic event has rocked the community and left many in shock and disbelief. The authorities are expected to conduct a thorough investigation to bring justice to the victim and her family.
